My wife and I found out 2-22-12 that our first child is going to be a boy! Baby and mother are doing great so far! God is faithful and we can't wait to meet when he gets here! |

Daily Bible Reading?
I was wondering how other people decide what to read each day with their daily bible reading. I read mine as soon as I get up in the morning and right before going to bed at night. Sometimes when I open my Bible, the things I have been wondering or struggling with are on the very page I turned too. That's when I realize that I didn't stumble upon them by accident, rather it was God that led me there. Other days I just don't know where to start or even how much to read. Can anyone guide me in the right direction?

My Testimony
I was always raised up in church. The church I grew up in was and still is a very small country church. When I was in the Youth Group there were about 8 of us. My mom was one of two women that led our youth group. Every year we were always going to the same youth retreat at Shocco Springs in Talladega Alabama. At the age of 13, I could feel and hear God talking to me. At the age of 15 I was at a revival at my church, Celebrate Jesus 2000, and that is when I got saved. As I walked down the isle, it may sound crazy, but it was almost as though there was an angel on each side of me escorting me to the alter. I was scared to death to go down there, b/c all I could think was what the older people were thinking. It's almost like I thought they were thinking "wonder what he did last night?". I was never a wild child or anything like that. At the age of 17 I got a part time job with my local Fire Department. My Faith was really shaken when I started that job b/c of the things I saw and having to hang around my coworkers who generally I would never want to be around due to the way they acted. Cursing, sex talk was just a "normal" part of the job. So I had to learn real quick how to deal with that. At the age of 18 I responded to a wreck with two teenagers involved. They had been drinking the night before. Their bodies literally ripped apart from the impact. I was digging through the car and found a Bible covered in blood. The first thing that hit me, and hit me hard, was how Jesus died a horrible death and shed his blood for us all. I struggled with that wreck for quiet some time. I decided that maybe I didn't want to do EMS work anymore.
Just when I thought my faith couldn't be tested any more, I was wrong. At the age of 19 I kept hearing from people I grew up admiring, how much they cared for our youth and children in our church as well as our community. They began looking for a person to fullfil helping with that job. Although I had never been to seminary school, I put my name in the hat. I was also approached by a deacon I still respect to this day about becoming a Gideon. I had all these people telling me they were glad that I had put my name in the hat for the job and that they didn't think anyone could be any better. I was feeling really good about this job. THEN IT HAPPENED. While I was at church interviewing for the job, they were all NICE to my face. They asked that I leave while they discuss it. Little did they know that down the hallway I could hear every word they were saying. None of it was nice about me. That threw me off guard but I never confronted anyone about it.
I decided that would be the motivation that I would need to help me focus on my job (while still relying on God). The committee that was put together for finding a youth pastor would stand before the Church and talk about how they cared for our youth. Everyone fell for it. But no one saw what happened "behind the scenes". I was never allowed to take the youth or children anywhere but then it when the church asked why I wasn't doing anything more with the kids, the hiring committee would place the blame on me.
Remember all the people I mentioned earlier that I looked up to? A couple of them were also deacons. They knew that our preacher was fooling around with another church member's wife. They were caught together on dirt roads at 11pm. They were even caught in his office with the door closed. Everyone in the church knew what was going on but did nothing to stop it. My faith was about to get broken badly. I was stressed beyond belief at 19,20 y/o from trying to do the job like God wanted it done. But at the same time I figured that if the deacon's in the church could do what they were doing and accepting the things that were done, then it must be ok for me to do absolutely anything I wanted to do.
I stepped down from my position as the youth and children's minister. After everything I had been through, the human nature part of me decided that I can do absolutely anything I wanted. I was hired on as a full time Firefighter/EMT for the Opelika Fire Department. When I was going through the Fire Academy, I started going out drinking with the other guys. We also started going to strip clubs fairly frequently. One night I went to a party at my cousin's house. There were all these people that I grew up with and having them watch my walk with God. That night I stumbled and hit the ground hard. I got so drunk I can't remember anything that happened. I woke up with vommit that I had slept in all around me. I even attended Church the next morning. The same Church I was the "youth minister". Although no one said anything I just know they could smell all the alcohol coming from me. It was ashamed... beyond ashamed. I realized what a failure I had become. I still struggle with that everyday. I ask for forgivness everyday as well although I do know that I only needed to ask once.
I went to a Judgement Journey in LaGrange Georgia and that was the first time that I had really repented for what I have done. I am still struggling and working on getting back my relationship with Christ that I once had. I realized that he NEVER left me but I had left him. I decided it was best for me to get out of that Church I grew up in. I have prayed for God to get me into a Church where I will prosper and where I belong. I believe I have found it now. Every sermon I have been to since I started praying has delt with something that I may have struggled with throughout that prior week. The NEW pastor of my old church is a great guy and although we are 45 minutes apart, we still speak quiet often and he is aware of what I went through 8-10 yrs ago. We have just started a chapter of Calvary Riders where I am the elder of the chapter. Please pray that my walk with God will continue to strengthen and that our new chapter will prosper and do God's will not ours.

Hey Friends!
I would like to invite you to Ride4LIFE!
Stand4LIFE is an event where we rally people from all over Florida to come together in silent prayer at every abortion clinic in Florida.
I am in charge of the Ride4LIFE portion of the event. I try and rally the bikers of our community together for the same reason, to see the ending of abortion through silent prayer in my generation.
We are at a critica time in history, its time to lay down our denominational diffrences and come together as the body of Christ and stand up against this Goliath and pray it down.

Betty is ill & James, a truck driver, cannot go out on the road right now and leave Betty. They live in Humansville, MO. All bikers unite in prayer for this couple. Prayers for peace, comfort, and finances are needed now. Hospice has been called in. More info, upon request.
MORE INFO: My Bro JC from Beaver Dam Ky. has a friend that is with Soldiers for Christ M/M from Hummansville Mo, His name is James Badders and his wife has terminal lung cancer. He took her to the hospital in Springfield but they sent her home with hospice because they have no insurance. He drives a feed truck and is on family leave without pay to be with his wife, they don't give her very long to live. He needs help with his utilities, rent and food. So if the Lord lays it upon your heart to help please contact James at 417-298-8413 or his address is James Badders 524 East 358 Rd Hummansville Mo 65674.He could also use some encouragement and prayers at this time.

This is the email i received from Deb Causey She is the Vice Pres of Chapter40 MM in Myrtle Beach SC.
I have to have surgery tomorrow. It was a hugh surprise to me after a colonoscopy I had today late afternoon..they found a mass. I have to go in and have a colon resection in the am. The doc said I should be in the hospital about 4-6 days. (I'm gonna try in do it in 3 haha). Don't know yet until we know. Don't worry I'll be backkkk. God is in control! Keep me in your prayers...Love ya'll deb
